Arapaho Pass Trail

Starting at the Fourth of July trailhead, the Arapaho Pass trail climbs roughly 1600 feet in just over 3 miles, as it heads towards the pass. Continue reading

Pawnee Peak and Mt. Toll

A LONG day of hiking. I started at the Long Lake Trailhead (no pun intended…) at about 6:45am and finished at the Mitchell Lake Trailhead at around 3pm. The start of the hike was relatively even – it is amazing … Continue reading

Meyer’s Homestead Trail

Part of the activities for the Pack 278 Camp Patiya outing, I led this hike. It was pretty hot, so we ensured that all of the cubs had water with them. Almost all of the 35 folks who stayed overnight on Friday joined us. Continue reading

St. Vrain Mountain

A beautiful hike – I even timed it right to be getting back into my campsite just as the thunder and lightning started up again. Plenty of uphill – I climbed roughly 4000 feet in just a hair under 10 miles of hiking. Continue reading

FS 357

A pleasant hike, with a fair amount of shade as it passes through Aspen and Douglas Fir groves. Parts of the trail, particularly at the saddle just past the first junction are exposed, and wind can be an issue. That being said, it is a good 4 mile lollipop loop, with plenty of nice views and beautiful wildflowers. Continue reading
